On Saturday Derby NUT Members marched through Nottingham to the Rally for Education where over 300 people listened to Kevin Courtney from the NUT and Chris Keates from the NASUWT condemn Michael Gove's slash and burn attacks on teachers and education. We also heard from a governor, parent and a pupil. If Gove gets his way he plans to tear up teachers terms and conditions of employment, allow unqualified teachers to operate in our schools and bring in a curriculum which harks back to the 19th century. He cannot be allowed to damage the future of our children in this way. Support the teachers on strike on 1st October - Defend Education, Protect Teachers. Support the Strike.
Kevin Courtney - Deputy General Secretary, NUT |
