Thousands of teachers today took strike action as part of an ongoing dispute with the Secretary of State for Education, Michael Gove.
Schools across Derby were closed as teachers took to the picket lines - and the streets - to make their case, and their presence felt, in the city.
Well done to all our colleagues who took action today in defence of education and in the face of sustained and outrageous attacks on our profession by the Secretary of State.
