Meet at 4.45pm Derby North Constituency Office, 9a Theatre Walk, The Intu Centre.
Chris will be endorsing the NUT Manifesto for Education and it would be good to have as many teachers from Derby North constituency there as possible. Contact Sue on 07929 043415 or secretary@city-of-derby.nut.org.uk if you can come. If you are not in Derby North then come anyway - more the merrier.
Merrill Academy - Community Meeting
6pm Boulton Lane Baptist Church, Boulton Lane, Alvaston DE24 0AY
NUT members at Merrill have been forced to take 6 days of strike action so far in a dispute over unfair working practices at the Academy. For anyone who lives in the Allenton area this is an opportunity to find out what the dispute is about and talk about how to make the school a better place for pupils and staff. Kevin Courtney - NUT Deputy General Secretary will be speaking about the crisis in education and the NUT's ideas for moving forward. If you are a parent of a pupil at Merrill, you are especially welcome.
