As many readers will know, the support staff in our schools have had their terms, conditions and pay threatened by a review ordered by the City Council. The proposed changes are unacceptable and support staff across the city have made their feelings very clear on two fantastic demonstrations outside the Council House organised by their union, UNISON.
Derby NUT is proud to have supported our vitally necessary support staff with a solidarity delegation on both demonstrations. When hard working people are fighting for their livelihoods it is hugely important to know that you have support from elsewhere - as NUT members will remember from our national strikes over the last few years adn the msupport we received from both other trades unions and the general public.
