It is a very busy time for trades unionists at the moment and for teachers and doctors especially!
Yesterday saw a brilliant rally called in Matlock against the proposals in the #WrongPriorities Education White Paper by local parents. As you can see, feelings were running high!
The Junior Doctors continued their strike action this week, a fight which must be won if we are to safeguard our NHS. In the face of relentless attacks from the government and parts of the media, the support for the junior doctors was even more solid than in previous strikes, with honks of support more numerous and louder than ever from passing drivers and an even bigger picket than usual outside the hospital. Please continue to support your junior doctors and send messages of support to the BMA. Teachers and Doctors are facing the same level of attacks on the public services they provide and we should make common cause wherever we can!
If you can attend the May Day festival in Chesterfield on Monday May 2nd, march behind the City of Derby NUT banner alongside the Junior Doctors! email secretary@city-of-derby.nut.org.uk for more details!
