The NEU has, alongside some other education unions, submitted a pay claim for an immediate 5% increase, and additional funding be made available for this.

Alongside the pay claim there is a parliamentary petition:

school staff deserve 5%, children deserve properly funded schools.

Please sign and share widely, if it gets to 10,000 signatures parliament must debate it so it will pile more pressure on the government.

For more detail on the pay claim and the petition, see our blog post here: https://cityofderbyneu.blogspot.co.uk/2017/11/sign-petition-to-say-were-worth-5-our.html
Workload is a massive problem in schools and a major reason for people leaving the profession.

The NEU has produced a new toolkit, Tackling Workload Together, aimed at helping teachers in schools to solve workload problems collectively.

The document can be downloaded here
and paper copies will be going into schools soon.

If you have any questions, please get in touch using the details in the contact us box at the bottom of this email.
