This is just a short post to prod any member who has been thinking of taking more of a role in the union.
Before that, however could we please ask any members who are considering attending the AGM to RSVP as soon as they know? The meal is FREE to reps and NQTs!
There are many positions in the union, big and small, and we would love to see new faces!
Here are a few ways you could take part without having to commit lots of time:
If you join the committee there are usually 6 meetings a year that you would be asked to attend, to help make decisions and organise events.
If you would like to be a delegate to conference you will help to make policy for the union nationally. It takes place over 5 days around the Easter Weekend and won't cost you any money!
The Vice-President goes on to become the President the following year. It's up to the sitting President how active they want to be; they are usually expected to chair meetings and are the figurehead representing the union in Derby.
