So it's the final day of the last NUT Conference! There's lots of unfinished business! So far this morning, we've passed a motion to prepare a school rating website to allow teachers to obtain accurate information when choosing a school in which to work.
We also debated a motion to build unity towards a single education union and build links with NASUWT to achieve the goal of forming one education union.
We also looked at two motions on supporting young teachers within the union. I got to speak! Very nerve wracking! Both motions were passed.
We've moved on to the international section- looking at resistance in Latin America... Interesting stuff!
Hopefully we will have the chance to get on to the unfinished business. Lots of colleagues are disgruntled with the proposed dates for conference next year. CBC have just agreed to meet to debate the issue.
I tired, looking forward to a rest but I have really enjoyed my first conference!
