In the new year the National Education Union will officially begin!
The NUT and ATL sections will be dissolved and we will be one big trades union, the 4th-largest in the country and a big step towards unity in the education professions.
To kick things off we are holding a launch event - our inaugural meeting, and we thought what better than to begin with the opportunity to discuss the kind of education we want for our students? What should our union be campaigning and fighting for? We are very excited to be able to announce that our guest speaker to introduce this debate will be Professor Diane Reay, author of Miseducation: Education, Inequality and the Working Classes.
