The huge cuts in SEND funding are set to hit the students most in need across the country, and Derby is no exception. Derby NEU is proud to be part of the demonstrations and opposition to these cuts, alongside parents' groups and our sister union the NASUWT. If you haven't already, follow @DerbySENDingSOS on Twitter!
We have had some success already, with a crucial Council vote on the cuts being put back to the autumn, but these cuts must not happen if our schools are to have the funds to fully support the students who most need it!
That's why the NEU has been working with others to help build opposition to the cuts and were proud to take part in the national SEND Crisis marches that happened on 30th May around the country. For more on the SEND National Crisis marches see the Facebook page here.
